The Pan African Institute for Development – East and Southern Africa (PAID-ESA) and INCAS – International Conflict and Security Consulting Ltd have formalized a strategic partnership to strengthen capacity development, research, policy engagement, consulting services, and sustainable development initiatives across Africa.

The Pan African Institute for Development – East and Southern Africa (PAID-ESA) is pleased to announce the formalization of a strategic partnership with INCAS – International Conflict and Security Consulting Ltd.

This collaboration marks an important milestone in PAID-ESA's commitment to strengthening institutions, empowering professionals, and advancing sustainable development solutions across Africa and beyond. By bringing together the complementary strengths of both institutions, the partnership seeks to foster innovative approaches to capacity development, applied research, policy engagement, consultancy services, and technical assistance.

PAID-ESA has, for over six decades, through the Pan- African Institute for Development network, contributed to the development of human capital, institutional capacity, and leadership across the African continent. INCAS, on the other hand, brings extensive international expertise in conflict sensitivity, peacebuilding, governance, resilience programming, security analysis, and strategic consulting.

Through this strategic alliance, both institutions will work together to expand professional training opportunities for development practitioners, government institutions, civil society organizations, researchers, and private sector actors operating in complex and rapidly changing environments.

The partnership will focus on several key areas of collaboration, including:

  • Professional capacity development and executive training;
  • Peacebuilding, conflict prevention, and conflict-sensitive programming;
  • Governance, public policy, and institutional strengthening;
  • Climate resilience, environmental governance, and sustainable development;
  • Migration, human security, and community resilience;
  • Applied research, knowledge production, and policy analysis;
  • Consultancy services and technical assistance for governments, development partners, and international organizations.

At a time when Africa faces increasingly interconnected development, environmental, governance, and security challenges, strategic partnerships have become essential for generating sustainable and transformative impact. PAID-ESA and INCAS share a common vision of promoting evidence-based solutions, strengthening institutional resilience, and contributing to inclusive and sustainable development outcomes.

Commenting on the partnership, Dr. Franklin BABILA DOH, Regional Director of PAID-ESA, emphasized the importance of collaborative action in addressing contemporary African development challenges:

"This partnership reflects our shared commitment to advancing knowledge, strengthening institutions, and building resilient communities. By combining our expertise, networks, and resources, we can deliver greater value to development actors and contribute more effectively to sustainable transformation across Africa."

The two institutions look forward to implementing joint initiatives, developing innovative programmes, conducting collaborative research, and supporting stakeholders in creating lasting and meaningful impact throughout the continent.

Together, PAID-ESA and INCAS reaffirm their commitment to excellence, innovation, partnership, and sustainable development.
