PAID–ESA and Austria-based DMAT Consulting KG have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to jointly advance disaster preparedness, emergency response training, and climate risk governance across Eastern and Southern Africa and beyond
The Pan African Institute for Development – East and Southern Africa (PAID–ESA) and DMAT Consulting KG (Austria) have entered into a strategic partnership to strengthen disaster and climate risk governance across Africa.
The Memorandum of Understanding enables joint design and delivery of professional training, simulations, and executive programs focused on emergency preparedness, incident command, urban search and rescue, humanitarian logistics, anticipatory action, and disaster resilience.
The collaboration combines PAID–ESA’s regional academic mandate and networks across 18 countries with DMAT’s international technical expertise in disaster management, while also supporting applied research, consultancy, and global knowledge exchange aligned with international standards.
Together, the partners aim to enhance the capacities of institutions, responders, and communities to anticipate, manage, and recover from disasters in a rapidly evolving risk environment.
