PAID–ESA and Rebase have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to jointly promote ICT innovation, PeaceTech solutions, and digital skills development across Africa.
The Pan African Institute for Development – East and Southern Africa (PAID–ESA) and Rebase have entered into a strategic partnership to strengthen ICT capacity, PeaceTech innovation, and digital skills for development across the continent.
The collaboration focuses on joint training and certification programs, combining PAID–ESA’s mandate in higher education, peacebuilding, and applied research with Rebase’s expertise in coding, software development, and digital innovation.
With strategic mentorship provided by the Austrian Center for Peace (ACP), the partners aim to bridge digital divides, enhance Africa’s digital resilience, and advance technology-driven solutions for peace and sustainable development beyond traditional regional Balkanisation.
Key areas of cooperation include PeaceTech initiatives, ICT-for-development projects, youth and professional capacity building, and joint resource mobilization with international partners. Activities will include executive trainings, workshops, webinars, hackathons, and applied projects targeting youth, civil society actors, women peacebuilders, and development professionals.
Through this partnership, PAID–ESA—proudly part of the global PAID network promoting concerted, decent, and sustainable development in Africa—and Rebase reaffirm their shared commitment to inclusive innovation, skills transfer, and people-centered digital transformation.
