
PAID–ESA and Advances in Geographical Research (AGR), India, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to advance geospatial science, climate research, academic exchange, and South–South cooperation between Africa and Asia.
The Pan African Institute for Development – East and Southern Africa (PAID–ESA) and Advances in Geographical Research (AGR), India, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding establishing a strategic partnership to advance geospatial science, climate and environmental research, capacity building, and South–South cooperation. The collaboration aligns PAID–ESA’s continental mandate in higher education, applied research, and development policy engagement across Africa with AGR’s expertise in geography, GIS, remote sensing, climate science, and certified research and e-learning innovation. Key areas of cooperation include joint scientific research and publications, student and staff exchanges, co-developed professional training and certification programmes, and collaborative resource mobilisation and project submissions. Through this Africa–Asia partnership, both institutions commit to strengthening scientific excellence, locally driven innovation, and development-oriented research addressing climate resilience, disaster risk reduction, and sustainable natural resource management.
