PAID–ESA Signs Strategic Partnership with Humanitarian Action for Africa (HAA)

The Pan African Institute for Development – East and Southern Africa (PAID–ESA) has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Humanitarian Action for Africa (HAA) to strengthen collaboration in humanitarian response, resilience building, and sustainable development across Africa.

The Pan African Institute for Development – East and Southern Africa (PAID–ESA) and Humanitarian Action for Africa (HAA) have officially entered into a partnership agreement aimed at fostering joint action and knowledge exchange in areas critical to Africa’s sustainable and inclusive development.

This collaboration seeks to combine the technical expertise and field experience of both institutions to enhance humanitarian coordination, build local resilience, and support communities in crisis and recovery contexts.

The domains of collaboration include, among others:

  • Humanitarian Emergency Response and Protection
  • Food Security, Livelihoods, and Local Resilience
  • Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH)
  • Shelter and Basic Services
  • Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR)
  • Climate Adaptation and Environmental Sustainability
  • Capacity Building, Training, and Knowledge Sharing
  • Policy Development and Advocacy

Through this partnership, PAID–ESA and HAA reaffirm their shared commitment to advancing human security, sustainable development, and regional cooperation in Africa. The agreement will serve as a platform for joint initiatives, training programmes, and field operations across the Eastern, Southern, and Central African regions.

In a message addressing the signing, Dr. Franklin BABILA DOH, Regional Director of PAID–ESA, highlighted that “this partnership reflects our vision of strengthening African-led solutions to humanitarian and development challenges through innovation, capacity building, and collaboration.”

The partnership marks another important step in PAID–ESA’s strategic engagement with international and regional actors dedicated to achieving lasting impact for vulnerable communities.
